Associative Conformal Algebras with Finite Faithful Representation
The notion of conformal algebra appears as an algebraical language describing singular part of operator product expansion (OPE) in conformal field theory [BPZ]. Explicit algebraical exposition of this theory leads to the notion of vertex (chiral) algebra (see, e.g., [B], [DL], [FLM]). Roughly speaking, conformal algebras correspond to vertex algebras by the same way as Lie algebras correspond t...
متن کاملBOOK REVIEWS REPRESENTATIONS AND COHOMOLOGY I: Basic representation theory of finite groups and associative algebras
Cohomology of finite groups developed rapidly during the seventies and eighties and is maturing into an important branch of algebra of interest in its own right, having applications in algebra, to group theory and representation theory, and in topology, especially to homotopy theory. Both Benson and Evens are at the forefront of the research, and their books are valuable contributions to the li...
متن کاملA Cancellation Conjecture for Free Associative Algebras
We develop a new method to deal with the Cancellation Conjecture of Zariski in different environments. We prove the conjecture for free associative algebras of rank two. We also produce a new proof of the conjecture for polynomial algebras of rank two over fields of zero characteristic.
متن کاملA Kadison–Dubois representation for associative rings
In this paper we give a general theorem that describes necessary and sufficient conditions for a module to satisfy the so–called Kadison–Dubois property. This is used to generalize Jacobi’s version of the Kadison–Dubois representation to associative rings. We apply this representation to obtain a noncommutative algebraic and geometric version of Putinar’s Positivstellensatz. We finish the paper...
متن کاملIdentities of Associative Algebras
The structure theory for Pi-algebras is well developed. Some results of this theory are classic now. One of them is Kaplansky's theorem which asserts that a primitive Pi-algebra is finite dimensional over its centre. Another example is the theorem of Nagata-Higman which asserts that any algebra over a field of zero characteristic satisfying identity x" = 0 is nilpotent. In 1957 A.I. Shirshov pr...
